Specimen of the family Nymphalidae collected in Samar. Nymphalidae are commonly called four footed , reduced in size and folded upon the thorax, become less functional and useless for walking. They are sun lovers, often alighting on flowering plants in gardens and forests and rest with expanded wings on the upper surface of the leaf exposed to the sun.
