Notes	Notes - Teatro de Variedades, formerly called Teatro de Novedades, traces its origin to a big octagonal kiosk built for public dances right across Teatro del Principe Alfonso. When Teatro del Principe Alfonso burned down in 1878, the kiosk was transformed into a theater. However, on October 20, 1882, a violent typhoon struck the city and destroyed the Teatro de Variedades, thus ending its short four-year existence.
