| Notes |
- Notes - The fay-u, home of the prosperous Bontoc, is a large, open-board dwelling with side walls and a tall, top-heavy grass roof. The main room--used as a granary and storeroom---rests on piles and lies above the level of the eaves. The area below it is where the family cooks and eats; planks on each side protect the household from the elements. There is a small sleeping area for the husband, wife and baby, while the older children sleep in the dormitories for single males and females. (For details, see R.F. Barton, Ifugao Law, Plate 7; also Jenks, 55-58.)
