| Notes |
- Notes - (See Original Caption.) A komis is s fern-tree figure--a trellis-like ritual sculpture with a protective function--found at village boundaries. It consists of vertical posts to which horizontal poles are tied. The root end of the tree, which is the top end of the komis, is carved in the shape of an anito. Before a headhunting expedition, warriors spend time at a komis waiting for omens (Jenks,177; CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Art, Vol. 1, 297).
