| General Note |
- General note - A wealthy Ifugao rests on his hagabi, or carved wooden bench, a status symbol among the Ifugao. The lounge chair marks the owner as a member of the aristocracy, or kadangyan class. Cutting it out of a large tree trunk and bringing it in from the forest is a ceremony in itself (CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Art, Vol. l, 289; R.F. Barton, Ifugao Law, 116).
