- Notes - The Hotel de Oriente was a first-class hotel which opened in January of 1889 with 83 rooms and stables which can accomodate 25 horses. It was built by the Spanish architect Juan Hervas, who was active in the building scene of Manila during the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Photo shows the facade of the hotel.
