| General Note |
- General note - Reproduced from glass transparency. The Malacañang Palace is located on the north bank of the Pasig River. It was one of the many private resorts that lined the riverbank since the 17th century until the Royal Decree of August 27, 1847 designated it as the summer residence of the Governor General. Malacañang then became the official home of the highest official of the land after an earthquake destroyed the Governor's Palace in Intramuros in 1863.
