| Notes |
- Notes - Watercolor. The male is in a Chinese inspired shirt with narrow ans long sleeves its cuffs upturned, and accented wit a colorful silk kerchief around the neck. The silk trousers are loose and long enough to reach the mid-calves like those of the Chinese . A concession to French fashion was the trimming of lace around the trouser cuffs. He wears his hair a la Fernandino, short at the back but long in front and has discarded the salacot in favor of the European felt hat.
The wife is conservatively dressed in a camisa with long and narrow sleeves which are upturned at the cuffs and a checkered skirt which is relatively sheer and has to be protected by a tapis from the sunlight for a more modest silhoutte.
