Title Statement
  • Title - Constabulary Band
General Note
  • General note - The Philippine Constabulary Band, led by Col. Walter H. Loving, was inaugurated on October 15, 1902. The soldier-musicians made a name for themselves through performances at home and abroad, particularly in the U.S. The band completed and placed second at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904. It was reported that the crowd raved over the band which continued to play its piece without any score even after a power failure had plunged the hall into darkness. The man at the center is the organizer and conductor of the band Captain Walter H. Loving.
