- General note - This song is among the best-known traditional Tagalog folk songs in the country. The title refers to the typical rural dwelling on stilts with walls of nipa, and bamboo frames, floor, and posts. Despite its small size, the hut takes pride in the variety of vegetables grown in the garden around the hut which include stringbeans, pumpkin, peanuts, eggplant, and others. The song as transcribed by Norberto Romualdez was published in "The Progressive Music Series" (1932), a compendium of music used in Philippine elementary schools nationwide.
