Notes
  • Notes - The Tengao or Canao is a prestige feast which the wealthy among the Bondocs, the Ifugaos and the Kalingas celebrate at least once a year. Carabaos, pigs and chickens from the livestock of the host are slaughtered and feasted on by the community. Day and night, there is also dancing and general merrymaking. The wealthier the man, the longer the canao, and the feast may last from a day to a week. (Sources: Fiesta, Alejandro Roces, 1980 and Filipino Rites and Rituals, Philippine Appliance Corp., 1974) .
