Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Researched account on the defense of Bataan which tries to fill in gaps in earlier accounts (alleging that no official history existed, downplaying the work that Louis Morton had done forty years earlier). This history tries to present more fully the Filipino side of the battle, as well as the role of the US Navy, Marines and Army Air Corps. While it does present some new information at time of publication (Young made one trip to Bataan, accompanied by Filipino military historian and Bataan veteran Col. Ambrosio Peña), other stories have been often told. Misspells the name Vicente as Vincente. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
