| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - "Dulawan, earlier known as the settlement of the Sultanate of Buayan, was one of the contentious seats of power of the warring sultanates of Maguindanao. By virtue of Executive Order No. 66, it became a municipality and was named after the undisputed Moro leader of Central Mindanao who was able to navigate himself to power through the colonizing forces of Spain and the United States while challenging the royal succession of the Maguindanao Sultanate--Datu Piang.
To trace her roots and share the saga of the historic and influential family, who in many ways shaped the destiny of Dulawan, Putri Gonong Lidang Grace T. Piang, through a research grant from the National Historical Institute, put into writing the memories of her childhood together with local history, oral traditions and documents. This work not only pays tribute to a great leader but also gives an inspiring message that although people may be of different religious beliefs ad practices, it is possible for them to live in friendship, peace and prosperity. Such was the case of Dulawan."
