| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Personal memoir focusing on General MacArthur and the liberation of the Philippines from a unique perspective: Dr. Egeberg worked very closely with MacArthur since he was the general's aide-de-camp and personal doctor. Egeberg, a practicing doctor, joined the US Army and was assigned to MacArthur's headquarters in 1944, but became close to MacArthur just before and during the Philippine campaign. He writes about his experiences with MacArthur in Leyte, Luzon and other battlefields, and ends with the Japanese surrender and MacArthur beginning his reign over occupied Japan. Egeberg was demobilized in November 1945 and returned to the U.S. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
