He was assigned to the 88th Field Artillery Regiment (Philippine Scouts) and later transferred to the 21st Field Artillery, Philippine Army. He describes the condition and the guns of his unit, his experiences at the start of the war, beach defense, withdrawal to Bataan and finally surrender and life as a prisoner of war.
