Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Definitive history of this famed infantry regiment of the Philippine Scouts, US Army, specially focusing on its role in the battle of Bataan. Gives a brief historical background of the regiment before the war, and detailing its wartime record. Olson and Anders were officers of the regiment during the war; Olson became the post-war historian of the unit and kept in touch with survivors. Both visited the Philippine battlefields after the war; the book is illustrated by photographs taken during these trips, as well as rare pre-war and wartime photos. Appendices provide lists of the unit members, as well as medal winners and casualties. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
