There are a few general articles on the Philippines, the Japanese invasion and occupation of Manila, followed by a number of reminiscences by Santo Tomas internees of their day of liberation. The bulk of the book is composed of short memoirs and reminiscences by members of the 1st Cavalry Division and attached military organizations, divided by unit.
