Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Brief but solid account of the US Marines in the Bataan and Corregidor campaign. The Fourth Marine Regiment and its operations in the Philippines in 1941-1942. The regiment had been stationed in Shanghai since the 1920s, but was ordered to the Philippines on the eve of war. It joined the 1st Separate Marine Battalion (which was in Cavite) in the defense of Bataan and Corregidor. This monograph narrates the operations of both these units, as well as the Marine Detachment, Air Warning Service, also in Bataan. This pamphlet is part of the "Marines in World War II Commemorative Series" published in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of World War II. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
