| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - General account, heavily illustrated, of the defense and fall of the Philippines in 1941-1942. Written by a Briton without much knowledge on the Philippines, the book suffers from a number of factual and spelling errors. Some of the photos are good, but others are mislabeled (on p. 10 is a photo captioned as President Quezon - the photo is of Claro M. Recto; on p.90 is purportedly a photo of Japanese soldiers marching into Manila - the actual locale is Davao ). It is part (Campaign Book No. 16) of the series The Pan (in England)/Ballantine (in the US) Illustrated History of the Violent Century. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
