Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Personal memoir by a sergeant in the 34th Pursuit Squadron, based at Del Carmen field. He narrates his experiences in the airfield at the start of the war, in Bataan, in the Death March. He was spared much of the agony in the bigger prison camps when he was singled out for a work detail in Bataan. He spent some time in Cabanatuan and Lipa prison camps. He was later shipped to Japan, and forced to work in a mine. Points out many human-interest details in relating to Filipinos and Japanese. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
