Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Popularly written researched military account of the US Ranger raid to liberate the prisoner of war camp at Cabanatuan in January 1945. This was the second book on the subject, following Forrest Johnsons' "Hour of Redemption." The author interviewed or corresponded with several American veterans of the raid and the prison camp, including the commander of the 6th Ranger Battalion, Lt. Col. Henry A. Mucci. He was not however, able to contact Filipino participants, although he credits their assistance in the raid. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
