| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Col. Jackson was a medical doctor who was called to active service with the U.S. Army in February 1941. He kept a diary from this day, through his shipping out to the Philippines, assignment as surgeon for the 51st Division (Philippine Army) and the Bataan campaign, from the eyes of a medical doctor. The diary goes on to document his experiences and observations after the surrender, in prison camp (Camp O'Donnell; Davao) and on to Japan. The diary continues on until his return to the US in October 1945. This book publishes the original diary, transcribed from the original handwritten manuscript. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
