The book discusses camp organization, the Red Cross, health and sanitation, food, religion, education, entertainment, living conditions, shelter and various other topics (Some of the chapters were written by different internees). Also discusses briefly other internment camps ("Happy Life Blues" in Davao; the camps in Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod and Baguio), the horrors of Fort Santiago, Christmas for the three years, the Japanese commandants and liberation.
