- Summary, etc. - The author served with the 71st Medical Battalion of the famed 7th Division. They were assigned to set up a civilian hospital in Dulag, Leyte in October 1944, leading the first US landings in the Philippines.
He describes his experiences on Leyte, and then proceeds to narrate his two trips back to the Philippines (in 1983 and 1984) and his meeting with the Leyte Association of Northern California. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
