  • Summary, etc. - Personal account, by a draftee who was assigned to the 409th Signal Company in Nichols Field before the war. He saw the bombing of Nichols Field, was sent to Bataan as part of the Air Corps men turned infantry, and participated in the Battle of the Points. He was taken prisoner when Bataan fell, marched the death march and was imprisoned with thousands of POWs in Camp O'Donnell. He later was transferred to the infamous Tayabas labor detail; Bilibid and then the hellship Nissyo Maru, which took him and his comrades to Japan. After the war, Hubbard went to school and finished a PhD and became a professor of history. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
