| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Personal account of a US Marine stationed in Cavite prior to the outbreak of the war, and an eyewitness to the naval base's destruction two days later. Williams was a member of a unique unit: an Air Warning Group with one of the few radar sets (emplaced in Batangas on December 8, 1941) in the Philippines at that time. As a separate unit, not attached to any of the fighting divisions, this group of marines became the rogues of Bataan, hence the title of this book. Williams describes in detail the experiences of this unit, through the siege of Bataan and on to surrender. He provides a brief epilogue on the fates of the different members of the group, who are all named early in the book. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
