| Summary, Etc. |
- Expansion of summary note - Journalistic account of Lt. Iliff David Richardson, an officer of Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron 3 who fought in Bataan and the Visayas until his PT boat was destroyed by a Japanese bomb. After the fall of Corregidor, Richardson chose not to surrender. He joined the guerillas in Mindanao and was dispatched to Leyte. One of the first books on the guerrilla war in the Philippines, Richardson's experiences were sensationalized and made into a movie. However, guerrillas who were there and knew him cast doubt on his story. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
