Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Personal account of the war by a college student (and ROTC cadet officer) called to active duty as an intelligence officer in the 31st Division, Philippine Army. He was part of the death march, and survived imprisonment in Camp O'Donnell. After his release, he joined the Hunters ROTC guerrillas and kept up the fight. After the war, he became a lawyer and columnist; he continued to fight, this time for veterans' rights, through the years of Martial Law. Humorous and lighthearted, told through personal vignettes and recollections, and in the third person (casting himself as Tony). Illustrated by the author's own pen and ink sketches of incidents he remembers. This book was published posthumously. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
