| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Detailed unit history of this squadron, in charge of providing ground support (aircraft maintenance, parachute rigging, repair and others) for its parent unit, the 27th Bomb Group. It arrived in Manila in late November 1941, and was temporarily stationed at Fort McKinley, waiting for the Bomb Group's planes to arrive. War broke out before the planes could arrive, and the Squadron wound up being assigned to Bataan (with a detachment in Mindoro) in the hope that the planes would come in. They never did. The squadron fought as infantry and had to surrender in April 1942. The book contains rosters (and fates of individual members), documents, rare photographs taken in Fort McKinley and in Bataan, and maps. The author was not part of the unit, having been too young, but he had a cousin who died two months after the surrender, in Camp O'Donnell. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
