| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - More than a personal account of a seven-year old boy, this book, through photos and text, reconstructs life in Manila before and during the Japanese occupation, giving much emphasis on the battle for Manila in 1945. The author and his family were in the La Salle College area when they were advised by a Japanese friend to proceed to St. Scholastica's College; they thus narrowly survived the massacre at La Salle. Garcia also tells the story of his wife's family, and other friends and acquaintances, giving life to specific heroes and victims. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
