| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Personal memoir of an American officer with the 19th Bomb Group. He was at Clark Field when the war started, and saw the Japanese bombing firsthand. He and his squadron mates withdrew to Bataan, where he maintained Cabcaben Field for any aircraft that might arrive. With the Bataan garrison, he surrendered in April 1942 and marched the Death March. He witnessed brutalities in the march, and in prison camp (Camp O'Donnell, Cabanatuan). He was taken to Japan via hell ship Nagata Maru, and spent the remainder of the war in various camps. An atheist before the war, his experience as a prisoner of war awakened a strong faith in God. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
