When the Japanese took over Mania, Eburn was initially interned in Santo Tomas as a British national, but when the Japanese discovered that he was in the navy, he was interrogated by the Kempeitai in Fort Santiago, moved to Cabanatuan as a prisoner of war and then shipped to Japan on one of the notorious hell ships. - Prof. Ricardo T.
