| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - The book is what the title says: a day-by-day chronology of the actions in the defense of Bataan and Corregidor, with some information on the southern Philippines islands. It is based on published and generally available works, with photos and maps taken from the official US Army history (Morton, "The Fall of the Philippines").
The author (whose father served in WWII in the Pacific but not in the Philippines) prepared the manuscript in his spare time and finished it in the 1980s; the editor of Merriam Press decided it was worth publishing and printed it.
This contains a list of errata from Bataan veteran Richard Gordon, and a response to it by publisher Ray Merriam. No new material is presented through interviews with veterans or papers. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
