| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Journalistic account of Jock McClaren, an Australian who fought the Japanese in Malay and in Singapore.
He became a POW when Singapore surrendered, and was transferred to the prison camp in Sandakan, Borneo. Together with seven other Australians, he escaped (in the only successful attempt of Australians to escape from a Japanese POW camp) and made it to Tawi Tawi, where they contacted friendly Filipinos who guided them to Mindanao, hoping to be evacuated by submarine. While some of the men were evacuated, McClaren and a few others stayed on and joined the Fil-American guerrillas in their battle against the Japanese.
Has some misspellings and small errors, but this account provides a different perspective of the guerrillas in Mindanao and Sulu. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
