Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - An overview of Filipino guerrillas through time, from pre-colonial times until the post-World War II era. Sweeping in scope, but not in detail, concluding that Filipinos fought best as guerrillas. Has only one brief chapter on World War II in the Philippines (Chapter VII: The Commonwealth and the Japanese Epochs) which barely scratches the surface. Has one chapter on the post-war Huks, and one chapter on the Cuban revolution purportedly to compare with the Philippine experience. Appendices include the laws of land warfare, the rules of war and a partial list of Philippine guerrilla units during World War II. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
