Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Gen. Brougher was assigned to the Philippines in 1939; in 1941 he was made commander of the Philippine Army's 11th Division. The division was in action from the time Japanese forces landed on Luzon. This book is not about the battle fought: it is a book of poems the general wrote to describe life as a prisoner of war of the Japanese. Grouped into five, the poems deal with life in camps in the Philippines, his family, comrades in camp, humorous poems and literary verse. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
