  • Summary, etc. - Personal account of a Polish-American who enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to the 192nd Tank Battalion. Sent to the Philippines in late 1941, Lajzer narrates his experiences at the start of the war, defending positions in Luzon ad Bataan, the surrender, Death March and imprisonment as a prisoner of war in Camp O'Donnell, Cabanatuan, Lipa, Bilibid, hell ship to Taiwan and eventual liberation. (There are two illustrations misidentified as Japanese occupation money - one of a Philippine Commonwealth Emergency currency bill from Negros Occidental, and the other guerrilla bill from Bohol.
