| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Memoir, written in novel form, of an American marine member of a communications unit under Adm. Hart, the commander of the US Asiatic Fleet. He remained behind as Hart's headquarters moved out of the Philippines, and saw action in Bataan and Corregidor. He was captured by the Japanese and became a prisoner of war, was moved out of the Philippines on the Nagata Maru. The thread which ties the book together is a love story, between Orgeron and his wife. A clerical error reported him dead and his wife, after a period of mourning, remarried. When the war ended, Orgeron returned home to his wife only to find her with her new husband. All ends happily, however and the two are reunited. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
