He presents a detailed and objective record of their family's experiences during the war: evacuating to Montalban at the start of the war, return to Manila and living under the Japanese for two and a half years, evacuation to San Francisco del Monte when American bombings started, and return to Manila after the fighting. He documents life in occupied Manila, encounters with the Japanese the growing economic difficulties. Molina became a censor for the US Army in 1945.
