Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Juvenile, action-packed fiction for American kids: the main character is an army reservist, drafted before entering college. Applying for Philippine duty, Duncan, now a Lieutenant, arrives just before the outbreak of war. He seems to get involved in all the major battles in Luzon in 1941-1942, among them Binmaley, several sites in Bataan, including at least two of the points in the Battle of the Points. Captured by the Japanese, he manages to escape and makes his way to Corregidor. Along the way he is picked up by an American submarine and taken to Australia. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
