This is one of the very few monographs on a Philippine Army unit in Bataan, and the author notes distrust by US Army units of the reserve Philippine Army divisions as being a hindrance to joint operations.
Webb discusses the operations of his regiment, the 41st Infantry Regiment, which was the best trained unit in his division. (He does not mention it, but this division was manned by Filipinos from Cavite, Laguna and Batangas, proud of their heritage and led by Gen. Vicente Lim, the first Filipino graduate of West Point). The Philippine Army division stood its ground in the Abucay line even though neighboring units were pushed back. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
