Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Military monograph which deals with the US Army’s assault on Intramuros, Manila. Details artillery and armored (tanks and self-propelled guns) support for the infantry assault, planning, disposition and finally the execution of the attack. Gives general conclusions and lessons learned from the assault. Impersonal and technical; although the author was probably involved in the attack, he does not say so in the monograph, as his writing is detached. Almost no mention of the civilians in Intramuros except a brief mention on refugees being evacuated after the walls were breached. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
