Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - A graphic personal account by an eleven-year old boy during the last months of the Japanese occupation in Manila, emphasizing particularly the horrors he and his family experienced during the battle of Manila when the family home was caught in the middle of the battle. The family evacuated to Philippine General Hospital where they encountered untold difficulties and horrors.
Written many years after the war, but extremely detailed and accurate, this account was first published in the Philippines Free Press in 2009, and later uploaded in the Battling Bastards of Bataan (of which Litton is the Philippine representative) website. Contains rare photographs, although the one labeled “Japanese Soldier Watching Manila Burn” is actually Cebu in 1942. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
