| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - "Discusses the 35th Army's plans, preparations, and operations on the defense of Leyte. Written from the Fourteenth Area Army level, study consists chiefly of orders to the 35th Army and the 16th Division and is a miscellany of plans, preparations, and operations. Apparently written from memory, few dates or strength and casualty figures are provided. Of limited value. (Unedited translation, 18 pages)" Title on title page: "The 14th Area Army Command in Leyte." Written from memory by former 14th Area Army staff officer Col Chujiro Kobayashi, supplemented by operational records of the Southern Army, 4th Air Army and 35th Army compiled under the guidance of Col Ryoichiro Aoshima. Dated October 1946. Basically an outline. No maps. The 35th Army was a subordinate unit of the 14th Area Army (which was the 14th Army raised to a higher command level); it was charged with defending the Visayas and Mindanao. *Citations in quotation marks from: U.S. Army.
