Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - "Description of plans, preparations, and operations of the Kembu Group in defense of the Clark Field area. Written in outline form, study lacks cohesion and is of limited value. (Unedited translation, 31 pages)" This monograph is a supplement to the overall history of the Japanese defense of Luzon (Monograph No. 7). On title page: "Outline of Kembu Group Operations, Clark Sector." Dated November 1946, it was based on recollections of ex-Col Yasuji Okada. Outline narrative, unit organization, map. The Kembu group tied down American forces in the mountains west of Clark Field, and delayed the American use of Clark Field, contributing to the delay of US forces in their advance to Manila in January 1945. *Citations in quotation marks from: U.S. Army.
