Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - This book tells the story of Sgt. James T. Murphy, a US Army Air Corps enlisted man who saw Nichols Field raided in the early days of the war. Without planes, he and his unit fought in Bataan as a ground soldier. He narrates his own experiences of the fighting in Bataan and as a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese (Death March, Camp O'Donnell, Cabanatuan Bilibid Prison, hell ship Noto Maru and slave labor in Japan). The book is part memoir but also partly a researched account, written by James' son. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
