Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - Not really a diary but a personal memoir. The author was an American draftee assigned to Battery B, 200th Coast Artillery Regiment, a US National Guard anti-aircraft outfit from New Mexico. He and his unit arrived shortly before the start of the war, and saw action in Clark Field and Bataan. Gater describes the Death March and POW life. A few Japanese propaganda articles from the Nippon Times ridiculing the Americans in the war are reproduced as appendices. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
