| Summary, Etc. |
- Summary, etc. - The experiences of an American soldier as transcribed and written by his wife, Lillian Wuttke deGiacomo and son, Pete Wuttke.
Wuttke was drafted in the US and married his sweetheart just before he was shipped out to the Philippines, arriving in October 1941. Wuttke was at Fort Stotsenburg, adjacent to Clark Field on the day the war began, and witnessed the destructive Japanese raid on Clark. He saw action in Bataan.
The Death March, POW life (including humorous incidents), forced labor in Mukden, Manchuria, and in Japan are described in detail. He was liberated in Japan in August 1945. Sketches illustrate the book. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
