Summary, Etc.
  • Summary, etc. - Don Mansell was an American living in Baguio with his missionary parents. They were originally bound for Africa but were diverted to Baguio, in the Philippines because of the threat of war. A detailed account of his family and the war was published as "Under the Shadow of the Rising Sun." This diary – one of the sources of his book – provides a detailed, contemporary account of events as they happened and life in Camp Holmes, Bilibid Prison and liberation; it covers January 1944 to February 1945. - Prof. Ricardo T. Jose
