| General Note |
- General note - A photo of the main altar of a church in Kalibo, with the statue of Saint Joseph at the center. In 1569, the Aklanons solicited the help of the Spaniards to repel the marauding pirates from Mindoro and Lukban (now Batangas). Juan de Salcedo was sent forth, along with Father Juan de Alba, who started the Christianization of Kalibo. The name Kalibo (originally spelled as Calivo) was derived from the Aklan word "sangka libo" or one thousand, after the first one thousand people of the community were baptized.
